Hey Scotty, I'm looking at a listing for a 2006 Lexus LS430 with under 60,000 miles online for sale by private owner in FL for around $17,000.  Could this be a good buy, and if the timing belt hasn't been changed on it yet should that be done right away?  I plan to do CarFax check and take to a mechanic to check it out, but is there other warning signs I should watch for?  Always appreciate your sage advise.

Well numeral Uno I wouldn't believe the mileage unless there was absolute positive proof of an entire paper. Trail of insurance documents, repair bills, oil change information, inspection information before I believe that's actual mileage. If it was, it could be a really good car. If you found a good mechanic to check it out. Someone who has nothing to do with the actual selling of the vehicle

My boss used to have one of those that I would drive on occasion, wonderful driving car!

Florida can be a great place to buy cars, especially if it was owned by an older person, which many of those are, especially in Florida.

Follow Scotty's direction, and make sure to check it for signs of being flooded.

I will say that 17k seems awfully high for a 18 year old car.
