[Solved] 2006 Nissan Armada long distance fuel starve

Recently on 4-5  trips over 2 years at about 150 or so miles into trip the suv starts acting like starving getting slower (especially under load-like uphill)and slower until we have to pull over(I coasted once into auto parts store whereby scanner codes suggested containated fuel-water).

Added the water additive and after about 5 mins all cleared up....now this happened several times but now the additive doesn't help.

I tried to siphon gas out but couldn't get hose down, was told it has a roll-over valve preventing hose going in..darn.

Possible issues:

1 Fuel pump strainer clogged.

2 pool of water in bottom of tank

3Fuel pump relay

4 Fuel line getting hot causing vapor lock(we did have extesive mice damage whereby dealer replaced much wiring-so they say but couldn't produce old harness-fromn mice chewing of fuel line(if it has it) insulation.

Anyone else have this issue especially with Armada.

 Suggestions much appreciated.

 Thanks

What were the codes that you got?

I doubt that water is your problem, not over that length of time. I think you are right to be looking at the fuel pump assembly. You might want to try pulling it out and looking for anything obvious or just replace it... Rockauto has a Delphi unit for under $200.

New Nissan fuel pump fixed it.

Thanks for letting us know. Hope you get many more miles out of your vehicle.
