After giving another car a jump with jumper cables, my radio stopped functioning completely, but everything else in my car, including accessories, cig lighters, works fine.
I tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the ground from the battery for 10 minutes, and turning the headlights on. The reset did not fix the radio.
I checked each fuse in the drivers side, and the fuse box under the hood. I didn't find a blown fuse.
I replaced the battery, and this didn't fix the dead radio.
Help me solve this puzzle, please. If my wife has to keep listening to my singing without the radio playing, I might get buried in the backyard.
Our car is a 2012 Kia Soul+, 2.4 liter 4 cyl, standard transmission, and 72346 miles.
Never use jumper cables on a modern car. You're lucky the radio was all that was affected, we've had people come here whose cars completely died when the use of jumper cables burned out computer modules. Use a dedicated jump starter instead.

Hi Kdp. Your radio gets power from the 15 amp Module Fuse in your passenger compartment fuse box.
It's probably paired up in a carrier with the 10 amp Room LP fuse.
Pull out the carrier and inspect that fuse and its sockets in the fuse block.

If that looks good, put it back in (you put the carrier back in first and then push the fuses into it) and go out to the auto parts store and buy a test light.
With the KEY ON, test for power at both test tabs of that 15 amp fuse.
(illustration shows doing it on a 10 amp fuse. You want to do it on the 15 amp Module fuse)

If there isn't any power on those test tabs, go to your engine compartment fuse box.
Check all the fuses in that Multi Fuse fuse strip.
Make sure none of those are fried.

If it is a UVO system there is a reset pin hole on the front of the radio located next to the volume knob. Use a pointy object and hold down the button for 15 seconds. Do it while the car is on. There may be additional information in your owners manual. It might solve your problem and keep you out of the back yard. Good luck.
