my car will randomly jerk while driving and sometimes will cut off. All the lights stay on when it does this but it i hit the gas after it cuts off while I'm still rolling it will start back up. What could cause this?

Lots of things could but often a weak fuel pump will do it pressure test that first if not that often the ignition system shorts out on those
