My wife and I watch your videos and enjoy them and your humor! I'm considering a Lexus GX470 as my next purchase. 2006 to 2008 are the years I'm looking at. Trying to stay around 100K to 150K with the mileage. I've read so many good things about this SUV. I know the down sides of maintenance cost and that it has a timing belt rather than a chain also the air suspension which I would convert to a regular suspension with a kit. Oh and gas mileage is not that great 🙂 It wasn't going to be an everyday driver just to hall dogs to the vet, pull a small trailer with riding lawnmower to my country place. That's where I'd need the AWD. Also use the awd for safety (snow and farm) when we move to Kentucky in the next two years. Could you please give me your opinion on this vehicle? PS: We own a Toyota 07 Yaris and a 03 MR2 Spyder (both purchased new) We both needed the good gas mileage because are jobs are 45 mins and an hour away (one way). We also trust Toyotas!
That's the first gen so I'd go with later model year (2008) if possible. Sounds like a good application for it's design you have planned for it.
Hey Eldon, Just curious, how many miles do you have on the Yaris and MR2? Any major problems besides basic maintenance?
Sounds reliable enough. Be careful with Lexus V8's after 150 200k miles so I would get the newest ones possible.
