Hello everyone!
I have me a 2006 Toyota Camry, 4-cyl sitting at 158,000 miles.
Recently, I was at a stoplight and heard some clunking sounds, felt some movement (minor) in the acceleration pedal, and then the car wouldn't move forward when I released the break without pressing on the gas at a level stop.
When I started to accelerate, the car would get to 20 mph extremely slowly and sit at around 3k RMP. The gears wouldn't shift and I couldn't go faster even though I tried flooring it.
Pulled off into a parking lot, everything looked fine under the good. Did the good old Turn off and back on, backed out of the driveway, and drove home just fine.
My car does this from time to time now, it is getting more often. I am worried it is transmission.
Thanks
Start with cleaning the throttle body.
