Hey Scotty, I have recently started college ,my parents asked me to choose between two cars at home ,a 2007 Cadillac BLS with 2.0 Turbo charged engine manual transmission and 217 000 km on the clock and 2007 Chevrolet Aveo with naturally aspirated 1.5 engine 213 000 km manual transmission and its engine was redone 2000 km back , which car of the cars will give me less problems to own? And I really like that turbocharged BLS.
Now neither are cars are very reliable the Aveo is of lower quality and the Cadillac is expensive to fix I mean its a manual so you might as well use the Aveo until it falls apart and then get something else.
If you get the Cadillac, repairs would be through the roof.
The V6 engines in the Cadillac are prone to timing chain failures. For Aveo common problems, I couldn't find any because literally anything can happen with those.
If where you are one of them is worth more than the other you might use it a while and then sell it and get something much better like a Toyota/Lexus but that may be rude to your parents.
You said you liked the BLS so if you are willing to pay a bit more on maintenance/repairs you could pick that but the Aveo would be easier to own by far.
Good luck
Neither is going to be great in terms of reliability, but at least the Aveo will be cheaper to fix.
Does any of them have common problems you know of?
