Hi, have a 2007 Honda Element LX 2WD model, with 185,000KM on it. 5-speed manual transmission. lately am having a hard time shifting into 1st and reverse gear. And pumping the clutch sometimes helps. Going into 2nd gear first then to 1st tends to help at times. Once in gear it picks up fine no shaking and slipping. Also when driving has no issue shifting to the other gears up or down. What would cause this? I was told I need to replace the full clutch assembly. or could this be due to bad clutch master and slave cylinder. There is no visual sign of any leaks on both master and slave cylinders, and the fluid is clean and the toped up.
replace the clutch master cylinder and slave and bleed out the air then pray it doesn't need a new clutch where you'd have to pull the transmission off
