I've, been in the car market for a while and its been extremely difficult to find a good Toyota or Honda, anything remotely decent goes for 10k . My roommates father in law is selling his old 2007 infinity g35 (manual transmission) with 170k for 3k ( mostly freeway mileage). It really well taken care of and the only reason they are selling it is because they got a new car. I was think of possibly buying the vehicle since it seems like a really good car for the price and since it doesn't have the horrible cvt transmission. I know infinity's can get expensive to fix later down the line. Any thoughts on the vehicle? I'm taking it to a mechanic to get it analyzed before I even consider buying it. Thx for your guys help!

Ok, make sure you get that checked out because people who buy those beat the heck out of it, and as they age they can get expensive in repairs. However, if a mechanic says that it's in good shape and it's really got mostly freeway mileage, why not? $3000 for a G35 with 170k highway miles seems appropriate and it has a standard tranny and Nissan/Infiniti makes great standard transmissions, plus the engines are solid. Just realize that don't expect it to be cheap to own when it crosses the 200-250k mile mark as the stuff on the outside starts breaking, but if u plan to use it as a weekend toy yeah they can be a fun one.
