A friend has a 2007 Camry LE with 135K miles for $4500. It's a one owner car with the 2AZ FE engine made in Japan. I've heard these engines can have oil burning problems but is that true for the Japanese made cars also?
PS The car was built in Japan in August 2006 so maybe there won't be an engine issue?!
It is possible since the ones made in US had the oil burning issue. If he is your friend, ask him about the oil burning issue.
The Japanese ones were made better. Scotty said the previous generation with the 2.4 engine was made in Japan and thus didn't have issues. At 135k miles if its an oil burner it would have started burning by now so check if your friend is experiencing the issue, because its likely he is.
