Should I buy this 2007 Toyota Prius?

Scotty, I'm looking at a used 2007 Toyota Prius Hybrid with about 115,000 miles. Any thoughts about this car and what to watch out for?  I'm not very familiar with the hybrids in general. Thanks, Brian, Silverdale, WA.

That seems like a high mileage for a hybrid as they can start having issues with their battery etc. when they get to that kind of mileages. For a hybrid either buy very very low milage or go for a new one.

The second generation Toyota Prius has the reputation of being a tank.

I have a 2004 Prius with 299,999+ miles. This year has a quirk where the odometer gets stuck at 299,999 miles. But they resolved that in the 2007.

Use the Dr Prius app to check. The biggest thing to look for is the health of the hybrid battery. If the battery pack is still good, you may have at least 100K miles before potentially changing it out. (Judging by the folks I know with that generation).

could be more could be less.

Know what you are in for with the Prius.  It is not a speed demon. It can go fast, but it takes a bit to get there. This is a great city or commuter car. It’s not a sports car.
