My faithful Lexus ES350 finally tripped the check engine light. I pulled the codes and got two of them: P0057 and P0161.
From my brief research it sounds like an O2 sensor has gone bad but which one? Part number would be great too.

The V6 engine sits 'sideways' in this car. Bank 1 is the side of the engine where cylinder 1 is, and in this case, closest to the firewall or back of engine compartment when looking at it, hood open, from the front, passenger side. Cylinder 3 is middle, 5 is right end or drivers side in American cars. Bank 2 is the row of cylinders closest to the radiator. Looking from the front, number 2 is passenger side or left, 4 is middle, cylinder 6 is right or driver side.
Thanks for laying that out. 1-3-5 are at the front of the engine and is bank 2. 2-4-6 are at the back (firewall side) of the engine and make up bank 1.

That is bank 2 sensor 2. It will be locate off the exhaust manifold at the front of the engine and after the cat. Part number 15487. AutoZone - $92
There is no left or right. It's at the front. You have to take all the covers off to get to it. It serves cylinders 2-4-6. You did say a 2008 ES350, right?
Yes, it's a ES350 with a V6. The reason I ask left or right is because of the way Denso lists the part. They don't say bank 1 or bank 2. They say left or right.

If you buy from an auto part store, Make sure it should be Denso, nothing else.
I *think* I have answer to my left/right vs. bank 1/ bank 2 question. I found a diagram that seems to be indicating bank 1 is left and bank 2 is right. This is if you were facing the same direction as the car (i.e. sitting in it) and looking at the two exhaust pipes from underneath. The pipe coming from bank one will be on the left and the pipe coming from bank 2 will be on the right.
FYI, I went to Denso's site directly to order because it is cheaper than going through a Lexus/Toyota dealership. Even cheap than AutoZone etc. And I want the actual OEM manufacturer.
