I have a 97 Toyota camry and I got a code about my egr valve I recently cleaned it and I also cleaned the pipe. And my engine light still keeps coming I talked to a mechanic and he said it might be my computer system. Anybody have any suggestions?

Repalce the valve.

Back in the old days, we used to take the EGR valve off and hit it with a hammer till all the carbon fell out and called it good. Today, however, it's probably better to just replace it. They're about $35 at AutoZone.
