2008 Ford Explorer fuel cap warning light

My 2008 Ford Explorer, with 166K miles is showing a fuel cap warning lamp, when it has Ford's easy-fuel system, and I don't know what to do. A bit later the passenger side tail lamp went out, and the front passenger side turn signal lamp is blinking extremely fast, so we think it has something to do with the electrical. And if this helps the alternator was replaced about 6-7 months ago, and it was sitting for a while.

We've had it since 2013 and its done fine.

Okay, update on my 08 Explorer.

It sounds like the cats or sum with the exhaust has been stolen. it needed an oil change for like a month and a half, but it was out of gas and the tranny also needs oil, so we were scared to drive it thinking the tranny would go out any second. and now we start it, and it sounds like a modified exhaust. I just want to know is it because of a lack of oil / something with the tranny/motor or is it something other that's mechanical like the exhaust being stolen.

First check the bulbs then start checking wires for damage along with lose grounds.

A fast blinker is a symptom of a burnt out bulb.

Does it look like something was cut off from underneath the vehicle?

If you are too afraid to drive it, please tow it to your trusted mechanic and ask them to check.
