I have a 2008 Ford ranger FX4. It has taps security on it. (Rfid key security) I'm scratching my head trying to figure this out. Randomly it happens with both keys. I get the theft light flashing and can't start my vehicle. I got this truck used about 3 months ago and never came across this problem until now. For example. For 2 days it would have no issue with the key, then randomly after working on my truck today replacing a valance. it just decided to do it for two times and then stop then work as normal.
But I can start it normally with my remote start and keep it running in the ignition. I do not believe it will be the ignition switch because when I pulled that fuse my remote start would not work. What do you think could be the issue. ?
Those had horrible and I subsystems if I were you try to find a guy to bypass the entire system or if your mechanical Google it and get one of those kits and bypass it yourself they are pile of crap security systems they often break down it cost a fortune to repair if you repair them with Ford OEM parts
What would that be under would it be under the OEM securities system that came with the vehicle. There's no alarm just a remote start. I have plans and putting in my own alarm anyway. If that's the case I'll just whip out this one
