Hello Scotty,
Check engine light came on yesterday on my vehicle and it's pulling up the code P0022: Intake Camshaft Position Timing- Over-retarded (Bank 2). Autozone recommends changing the Oil Control Valve for this issue. The car is running great, just wasting a TON of gas compared to usual. I have a 2008 Tacoma V6 manual transmission. Where do you think would be a good place to start when fixing this issue?
Thanks in advance!
Zack

You could swap the OCV see if problem follows.
If not then verify OCV filter clean.
Next would be verify cam timing.
Do you have an idea where the valve is located?

Best get a subscription to ALLDAT.com or similar for location/voltage/resistance specs in order to test solenoid/circuits/etc.
