How to turn off VCS?

I have a 2008 Avalon touring edition. There is no VCS off button. Meaning i have no way of turning off the traction control. If i get stuck in the snow I’m screwed!! Saw on YouTube few videos saying its possible by pushing the emergency brake and brake pedals in a sequential order. I tried with no luck. Not sure if I’m doing it right or fast enough but i have had no luck. Is there a way to turn off traction control on an 08 Avalon with no VCS button?

Unfortunately it looks like this model i have it is just not a feature available at all

Some earlier Avalons had VSC but no switch to cut it off, like if you were stuck in snow. My brother has my old 2003 XLS, it has the switch. Having looked at both manuals, you're right, they don't mention VSC.

"1-Make sure the car is in park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car 2-Press and hold brake pedal while starting car 3-release brake pedal 4-Engage the parking brake 5-Fully depress the brake pedal and release 6-Fully depress the brake pedal and release again 7-disengage the parking brake 8-Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal 9-Engage the parking brake then disengage it {While holding down the brake pedal} 10-Engage the parking brake then disengage it again {While holding down the brake pedal 11-Release the brake pedal 12-Engage the parking brake 13-Fully depress the brake pedal then release 14-Fully depress the brake pedal then release again The "check VSC light and Trac light should come on now. The VSC will stay off untill you shut car off and start again.

YouTube video might have the same steps as above.

Instead of doing all those steps.. I would avoid getting stuck in the snow!

Dang! Are you sure that you don't need to turn around 3 times before you sit down in the drivers seat? 😆 If this procedure is not found in any manual, I wonder how in the world someone figured out this solution?

it might be a diagnostic procedure

Do I have to pat my head and rub my stomach at same time too? Lol i tried what was mentioned with no luck but i will try again as maybe i didn’t do it right or fast enough

Did you look in the owner's manual?

Yes i have original manual and it surprisingly says NOTHING about VCS in it. Shows all the buttons & possible options etc and NO VCS OFF button anywhere shown or even that its an option. Unfortunately it looks like this model i have it is just not a feature available at all. I’m hoping someone else out there has a 2008 or similar model year that also has noticed this and knows how to turn this off if ever necessary to do so.
