Hello, my girlfriends first car, a 2009 Honda Pilot recently got her check engine light come up with 185000 miles just a couple days ago, we don’t know exactly what it is, but the car has been running fine to this day, what could it be and should she be concerned?

What code(s) come up?

havent figured that out yet unfortunately, but we were planning on getting that done today! do you think a store like autozone would be able to check for codes? since we have one nearby

Autozone, O’Reilly’s, any of those auto parts stores can scan and get the code(s) for you.  Once you get the code, just post it above and we can better help you.

sounds good! i’ll update the post once we’ve got it, thanks for the help!

alright, well I am here with an update and we did check for codes and it turns out we have one code, which is p0301. I’m not sure what this means

P0301 is Cylinder #1 Misfire.

We have a sticky under FAQ on misfires:  start here.
