2010 cobalt CEL on for o2 sensor

I have a 2010 Chevy cobalt. I haven’t driven it in a couple weeks and now the check engine light is on for the 02 sensor. The car runs fine but it’s still worrisome to me. It’s been super cold lately even getting into the negatives. Right now it’s 40° here in Oklahoma City. It’s never done this since I bought it and just now doing it. I did have low fuel. Maybe could the gas have gone bad or maybe water got in or something? I’ve been stuck in home because I don’t trust the thing to get me through the thick snow. Should I wait a couple days and drive it around and put some gas cleaner in it or buy a new sensor if the light doesn’t go off?

I would wait till the weather gets better and then reset the code and make sure you have a good battery before testing it again.
