hey scotty, i just totaled my 2010 dodge charger sxt and i’m thinking about buying another one. i want to buy the v8 version but lots of people burn out the engines on those so they aren’t too reliable. i’m thinking of buying another v6 version and engine swapping it for a supercharged 6.2l v8 (the 2021 hellcrate engine). how would i do this and what other things would i need to replace? i wanna keep the body style of the 2010, cause i prefer that more than the newer ones.
If you're going to replace the motor anyway, why not get a V8 with a bad engine for the base of this project?That way, you'd have upgraded suspension, cooling and brakes, and the electronics might be less of a problem as well. You would also have a basic exhaust system, usable trans and diff., and a lot of other bits - engine mounts, for example.
One major challenge you're going to have is the entire electrical system of the car, including the computer(s) and multiple sensors.
