Greetings scotty. I watch your videos all the time. Thank you for helping me save a ton of money over the years. I have an f150 with 173,719 miles on it. I live in wisconsin. I change the oil every 4000 miles full synthetic. I changed power steering fluid, thermostat and coolant a month ago. Every now and then the truck will run rough while idle. Making the engine shake a lot . Almost as if it wasn't getting enough fuel. I give it a quick rev and it goes away. I ran e85 for a while and it never did it. But because of cost of gas i switched back to regular gas. Now it's doing it again. What can this be? I'm thinking something related to the timing. No knocking noises. But fuel injector loud clicking. Thanks.
Well the fuel injections just shouldn't have loud clicking. But the select few vehicles are so freaking complex. They have a system that measures how much ethanol is in the gas. When you ran the 85% ethanol it had to set things up differently. Then if you go back to regular gas that's 10 to 15% ethanol. And that system is so freaking complex. You really need to see a mechanic like me to analyze it in person. It's a big reason I tell people not to buy them as they age. They can get problems that normal cars never had which can be extremely hard to pinpoint
