Well Scotty,
I decided to go against your advice and I bought a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL with 12,700 actual miles. It was garage kept and babied and driven by a older lady. I paid 6 grand and figured what could go wrong with such low miles? After taking it to the dealership and they made me pay for a CVT, and power stearing, and break fluid service, 470 dollars later due to the “age” of the vehicle I have been noticing a pulsating humming noise coming from the front left of the car, when I get speeds 45-65 mph. The tires are in great shape, and I’m hoping it’s a tire balance issue, but the more I read about CVT issues, I’m afraid it might be something with the Jatco taking a crap on me. The car only has 12,000 miles Scotty!!! What should I do???
Anything is possible, but unlikely the transmission. Those CVT's usually last 100,000+ miles before going out.
Probably the old tires from sitting in the same place too long. The inner belts will no longer flex.
Also check your wheel bearings. But odds are it’s just old tyres..
