In this market, practically anything at runs and drives for under $5k is a good deal.  The Vibe in particular gets a lot of love here because it shares its mechanicals with Scotty's beloved Toyota Matrix, but as a Pontiac usually sells for cheaper.

That said, it's a used car with over 100,000 miles.  There is a reason why someone didn't want it anymore.  Get it inspected and find out why.  If it passes inspection and runs and drives fine, then go ahead and pull the trigger.  (But keep a little $ in reserve in case something needs fixing you didn't know about.)

Good luck!

Sounds good, thanks! I was planning on getting it inspected before buying it

The main red flag here is the price seems suspiciously low for a stealership sale. Have it checked very carefully for possible flood or accident damage as well as mechanical condition. (Don't depend on Carfax.)

I am located in Canada, the cars are not as expensive as in the USA. But yea I agree I am planning on getting it inspected by a trusted mechanic.

Which engine does it have? If it is the 2.4 liter 2AZ-FE, do not buy it.

1.8L I think. It's the base model. I saw that the 2.4L is an oil burner so I'm avoiding it

If it is well taken care of, the combination of 1.8l engine with a manual transmission is a fun bulletproof car.

Can a prepurchase inspection determine if it was well maintained?

Yes, live data and as @Doc mentioned, wet and dry compression tests, spark plug inspections,...

Depends who does the inspection.  Get a compression test at the least.

I will do a PPI by a trusted mechanic, I’ve already done a PPI at their place & they were very honest with me.
