Should I buy this SUV

I recently came across a toyota highlander 2010 base model (158k miles) from a dealer for sale. Asking price is $9990. The car is in great condition, clean title, no accidents. It's automatic, fwd with 4 cylinder. Downside is just that it's 157k miles. Do you think it's a good shot for $9990 ?

Well if it's in good shape, yes. Just price. What a new one cost

Thanks Scotty for your reply. The new one is 40k. Do you have any suggestions for cars under 8k ? I'm a student and a bit tight on budget. I'm 6'7 tall and looking for something that would last me for a long while.

Once Scotty answers, he does not reply in the same topic anymore. You can check his videos he has made so far

Kelley Blue Book is an excellent guide for vehicle values in your area. Since it's a Highlander and a dealer, they're asking full retail and some more.

According to Scotty, KBB recommendations are overpriced.

Thanks, I was unaware Scotty had ever mentioned KBB . I agree, their values can be inflated. When a value is an 'inflated value', paying more that the 'inflated value' is usually a bad idea. I maintain it's still a very useful guide -one must know how to use it and understand its limitations.

Even taking into consideration that's the bare bone stripped down model that's a good price just make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection
