Greetings from McAllen, Tx
2011 Corolla automatic 150,070 miles
Few day ago I find a leak in my car. Is from the back side of the engine and in the passenger side.
It's the timing chain tensioner, maybe the gasket.
In some videos from YouTube approach at this as a common issue in Toyotas and show how to fix it.
I make some minor maintenance to my car, as an oil change, brake pads and coil replacement, etc. but this seems like another level to me.
I take my car to two different mechanics but when I explained the problem they immediately told me that need to open valve cover to keep the timing, one even told me he have to remove the wipe blades . Obviously, they want to charge a lot of money. Maybe they don't like that people know the problems.
My concern is...
How long can my car go with that problem?
Can I really screw the timing chain of my car?
Is there something else that I need to know?
Thank you.

How much is the leak? If it has not been on the ground yet, I would not worry about it but keep my eyes on it.
- Some drops in the morning and a couple in the evening. Looks like an early stage and check the level from time to time.
