2011 Honda CR-V EX-L Navi 360k kms

Hello Scotty,

I have three issues with my otherwise running Honda CR-V.

1. I have Navigation system. Everything works except I have no sounds from any speakers. Dealer checked and confirmed continuity at every speaker. Yet, I still have no sound. Last summer the sound came back for a few days then disappeared again. Then, it came back again for a few days, then went off. Been with no sound ever since. I am Montreal, there’s no one to service the head unit and getting anyone with some expertise in electrical diagnostic is very very very difficult.

2. experience shudder when I accelerate between 80-100 km/h. If I release the accelerator pedal there is no shudder from the front right hand side of the vehicle. Tires are new. Links are all new. No suspension issues, no pulling or vibration from steering wheel. Honda says it might be CV axel shaft but says no way to tell without replacing them.

3. Rear passenger side wheel negative camber. Wheel is slanted inward more than the driver rear side. I’m told you need to replace pretty much everything on the suspension to resolve the issue. Can I used adjustable control arm instead? The vehicle has been extremely reliable and I’d like to keep it going. I’m religious with my maintenance but the repair might not be worth the expensive given the age and mileage.

remmeber, this is a vehicle driven in poorly maintained roads, lots of snow and salt, in Montreal. Lastly, I visit Rhode Island twice a year (providence and Narragansett). I’d be happy to lend you the car for a vlog:)

If it has the factory NAV then that seems like the amplifier is either faulty or has a wiring issue.

There were 2 options. A standard amp which is located under the passenger seat and a premium amp which is located in the console

Funny thing is I hear a very very faint thumping sound under the passenger seat where the sub and I believe the amp is located. I have the factory Navi/premium auto.

, I still have no sound.

isolate the problem. it's going to be one of three things: the speakers, the wiring, or the stereo.

Try plugging a known good speaker directly to the stereo.

Speakers all work I’ve already checked for continuity. Plus the sound came back twice on it’s on. Now it’s been off for 8 months.

yup I understand. Same thing ... could be janky wires, failing stereo, etc. etc.

I have the same issue in my old 2004 Ford Focus. I replaced the stock stereo/speakers and maybe a year or more later the sound went out. I figured the stereo was bad and bought another one but there's no sound. How does the wiring just stop working?

well it doesn't break by itself. It gets damaged in various ways.
