Hello,
This car was standing still for 3-4 years and when i took it out i was getting 2.5 mileage per liter of petrol.
now after 20 days of driving it for roughly 1000 km. i am getting a mileage of 7.7
people have told me the 1800cc 2008 corolla altis will give me a mileage of 10-12 in the city and 15-16 on the freeway.
I had to change the fuel pump motor cause it died, the car is smoother! i even put in STP fuel injector and petrol cleaner.
Car is butter smooth.
Engine oil and air filter seem good too.
Will the mileage increase? is there something i should do?
What units of fuel economy are you talking about? MPG, L/100km, ...?
How did you notice the change? Do you have to refuel more often?

Hello,
Thanks for writing back
MPG
You are welcome. To do some conversion:
2.5 miles per gallon is cca 94 litres per 100 kilometres
7.7 MPG =~ 30 L/100 km
10-12 MPG =~ 23-20 L/100 km
15-16 MPG =~ 15-14 L/100 km
You have a real gas hog, even for a city and highway. I was expecting 8 L/100 km (cca 30 MPG) in worst case scenario. What is the fuel quality in your country?
2.5 mileage per liter of petrol.
it's the first I've heard metric and imperial units being used together, but the only way to get two and half miles for every litre of fuel is if it's pouring out the bottom of the car.
