I have a 2011 Chevy Impala, 222,546 miles with an automatic transmission. It has no codes, but about 2 months ago I started it up and there’s now a whine when in park or neutral. I put it in gear and the whine stops, until under acceleration. The car burns no oil between changes, and I had 2 shops including the dealership look at it and they swear they can’t find an issue and just say “the car is getting old” but I refuse to believe there’s not a fix that doesn’t require a $5,000 transmission install or trashing the car and buyiNg a new one.. what do you think this could be? I maintain the car by dealer recommended intervals. I believe there’s tons of life left in the engine, I’d like to keep my paid off vehicle.
Probably the torque converter or pump.
That’s what I thought just from random YouTube videos but wasn’t sure. Hope I find someone that knows what they’re doing to repair It
