Hey folks - 2012 Accord LX 4dr Automatic, 124k miles
A few months ago I noticed a transmission fluid leak. Traced it back to a rusted transmission filter (they're in-line between the radiator and transmission for some reason on Accords...)
I was down a couple quarts and probably drove that way for a day or so before noticing the leak - just errands, and no noticeable change in performance though.
Replaced the filter, drained and filled with new fluid, and a few months later now I notice a "clunk" when getting on and off the gas.
Related? Is it possible I damaged the differential inside the transmission, or just coincidence?

did you change or not your transmission fluid when you replaced that filter? i have the same inllet filter it has paper inside.
Check the fluid level first. Did you use OEM ATF-DW1 fluid?
Yep - changed the filter and fluid with Honda OEM fluid, filled to spec. Had completed a transmission service (drain and refill) prior at around 80k.
well if any of it was leaking badly in a transmission was low on fluid when you drove it any length of time that of course will wear the transmission and as time goes on you'll notice the effects of transmission wear from low fluid
