I’m looking to get a 2012 Lexus IS 350 for $8000cad for the original owner. However the mileage on it is about 172,000 miles. Is this still a good buy?
Your question got cut off because you typed it into the title bar. Can you repost with the question typed in the lower box? Thank you!

Thanks for reposting. They are good cars and if well maintained can easily go 300k to 400k. $8000 seems steep to me as there are models with lower mileage around here for $5000 or so. But if a mechanic checks it out and says it is in good shape, and if you like it, they are good cars.
@mod_man bump
It is 8000CAD which is 6000USD.
I did not see that. Thank you for clarifying. In that case, not a bad deal if it checks out.
Depends on how it was maintained and the condition. Have an independent mechanic check it out and make sure it is mechanically in good condition. Also, look for common problems. The most common problem I could find on the early 2010's Lexus IS was the dashboard melting, but that should not be that common up where you are. I think if everything checks out the price is decent it could be a very reliable car.
