2012 Toyota Camry LE
Hi! Torque converter was changed @ 61k miles under Toyotas recall several years ago (New trans fluid at the time of course, so I counted that as a "fluid change"). I now have 102k on it. No issues. My question is about changing the transmission fluid, now. Should I? If so, HOW? Dealer wants to hook it up to a machine, they said it's safe to flush. BUT, that also means no filter change. I would imagine a drain and fill with pan drop and filter change is better? Or am I too far past that now? I don't want to risk any damage. Thank you!
Your answers are in the FAQ. (The short answer is that a drain and fill is perfectly fine and may even be a little premature at ~40K miles since the last change.)
Thanks!
What mileage do you recommend?
Most modern conventional automatic transmissions would be anywhere from 50K to 60K miles. (That information is in the FAQ.)

Yes.
As long as you stay on top of the service there is no "too far past"
