Hi all! I just bought a used 2012 Toyota Camry SE with 1 owner as my first car. The owner was consistent with oil changes, but the transmission fluid was never changed. It currently has 88K miles. It drives smoothly and has no problems. I had a mechanic check it out and no problems were found.
Should I change the transmission fluid now that it has 88K miles? I know that for this Camry it should be changed every 60K miles, but I am scared if I do that the transmission will start slipping.
Yes.
Besides changing the ATF, if you have not done the TSB, I would keep my eye on the torque converter. 2012-2014 model years are notorious for the torque issue. Search this forum for more information. You can also contact the Toyota to see if you are still eligible for the free repair for the TSB since you have a very low mileage.
