Hey Scotty. I have a 2012 Toyota Prius V with 314,000+ miles. It gets pretty rattley under the hood when it's under strain. Should I be looking at a new engine for it, or should I be looking for a new car?
The interior and exterior are still in great shape.

With that mileage I'd be looking at another vehicle. You can't really get good engines for those things if you get used. It's just potluck and I don't know anybody who actually rebuilds those things correctly because they're a fancy Atkinson cycle engine that many mechanics won't even touch
