Hey Scotty I have a 2012 tundra 4wd SR5
The owners manual makes no mention of transmission fluid service intervals.
I called a Toyota dealer directly and they said it’s a lifetime fluid and less you tow a lot of heavy loads and if that’s the case they recommend you change the fluid.
of course there’s no dipstick and there is a drain plug but getting to the darn plug isn’t easy
is this truly a lifetime fluid or should I change the fluid at some point? Current mileage 94k
thank you!
No, it’s not lifetime fluid - no fluid is. I would change (drain and fill, and service filter if applicable) the fluid every 40,000-60,000 miles (I like to go more aggressive at every 40,000 miles). You are long overdue, but it’s not too late on those Japanese trucks.
