2013 Corolla engine swap

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2013 Corolla with high miles and was told today that if I were to ever swap out the engine for another, since it's FWD, the transmission would also need to be removed and I might as well replace both at the same time if needed? Any advice or tips on this? I've never heard of this before? What do you think? Is this accurate?

Well, how much mileage do you have on it? If the engine isn't giving you any problems and if anything that's major in the engine didn't break, then why swap it out? It's a Toyota man! They're meant to be used and have high mileage thrown in them! Now if the timing chain broke, the block would have a possibility of cracking, or if the pistons are discombobulated, etc., then yeah, it's obviously understandable. Even though I guarantee you a thousand percent that it barely even possible to have all of those that I mentioned happen. In the meantime, just take care of it and just keep driving it till it pukes in the very far future😆
