I'm looking to buy a Chrysler Pacifica. From your experience, which model year is most reliable? Would you suggest purchasing this car at all? THANKS.

None of them are all that great. You can get an idea of failure trends here:

I wouldn't try to buy one, personally. Chrysler has always produced minivans that are subpar. They've always had great creature comforts, but Chrysler went bankrupt and got bought out by Fiat, then Fiat went under, so Peugeot bought both of them out, becoming Stellantis. Scotty loves to call them the 3 Stooges in the automotive manufacturing business. Chrysler has always manufactured sleeker models but looks can be quite deceiving.

Welcome new member.  The first gen Pacifica was a great road trip car, at least if you don’t have to climb In the back. Looks like 2008 was the last year, so that would be the one to get. The newer ones are just a rebadged minivan.

Like all Chrysler products of that generation, repairs aren’t that expensive, but you’ll probably have a lot of them (especially little electrical glitches).  As long as you have a backup car to get to work, a Pacifica could be a nice ride.  But if it’s your only wheels, I’d look at something a bit more dependable (Highlander, or something).

Those minivans are money pits and don't hold up as well.

The best decision is to at least get the Pacifica that was made when Chrysler was merged with Mercedes in the mid and late 2000s. It may not be the most reliable set of wheels, but it's far more reliable than the new minivans that are made right now.
