My 2013 KIA Optima started making a muffled noise when accelerating and now it keeps dying. The sound appears to be coming from the right side of the engine compartment. Do you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? I have searched the NHTSA recalls but there doesn't seem to be one for this problem. Thank you!

How old are your filters and spark plugs? Is fuel pressure OK? Have you checked for vacuum leaks? It would be a good idea to scan for codes and live data.
