Stalling after 45mins of driving?

Hello Scotty. Hope you're well.

2012 Chevrolet Orlando 299000 kms already, with brand new OEM O2 sensors, spark plugs, and high pressure fuel pump - all installed by my local shop. Now February 12 & 13 around 7pm, engine stalled after about 45mins driving both nights. Happened before and had it check checked by my local garage. Tested the fuel pressure and it's within default parameters. I thought maybe it's electrical since it's not the fuel. 

Error codes: P0134, P2A00

February 14 morning brought the car to CityGM, in the hopes that they know best. And it's still there until today February 20. I called Saturday noon, no answer. Here's what the service advisor told me today February 20, 2024 on auto text:

"hi herbert, well there are a bunch of codes in the system....starting from o2 sensors, catalytic converter as well as intake and exhaust sensors. however basic maintenance is also needed. lets talk tomorrow on how we can proceed. angelo"

So I thought it's been 6 days my car is sitting in their dealership and they haven't touched it or did any test at least?

 

Anyways what would your thoughts be about engine cutting out after 45mins of driving? Felt like it was choking, no power. I Almost had an accident twice.

I'm thinking you're in Canada because they don't sell the Chevrolet Orlando in the USA.

Don't go to a muffler shop and don't replace the catalytic converter.

You can't address a catalytic converter efficiency code (P0420) when you have that Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 (HO2S1) voltage code (P0134).

The catalytic converter can't operate efficiently with that P0134 code present because the air/fuel mixture is so far out of spec that the cat can't function.

So the dealer told you "Cannot replicate the problem".

Why would they have to? They can look at the HO2S1 voltage in the Freeze Frame data from when that P0134 code was set.

Is the voltage stuck High? If so, how high?  Look for a bad connection that's intermittently acting up in the HO2S1 signal wires. That will cause high voltage. An intermittent short to the Power between the  HO2S1 signal wires and the HO2S1 heater wire will cause really high voltage.

Or maybe the HO2S1 voltage is stuck in the middle of the operating range. Maybe there's a bad connection in the HO2S1 heater circuit.

See if there's an Automotive Diagnostic shop in your area. If you find one search online for reviews and give them a crack at this

That can be caused by an electronic component failing when it heats up.

Thanks. So I got back my vehicle today, unfixed. The "Stealership" just did a systems/software diagnostics check saying "Cannot replicate the problem..." Put in the very same error codes I told and showed the advisor - P0420, P0134, & P2A00. The advisor was off Today and every Saturday. But left me a printed page of a Muffler shop with his business card Stapled on it. Charged me $411. Wow right! Yes bad decision on my part. What I was waiting for was for them to somehow, maybe, remove the O2 upstream Sensor and slip in a camera to see what the Cat looks like. But nothing. I just paid and left. What a day. I called a few muffler shops that are open but they said they only do the mid cat on the pipe and not the one next to the exhaust manifold. What a day right? Anyways thank you for the video.
