Hi scotty I been following you for a while now I love ur honesty and am impressed with your car knowledge. I have a problem I just bought a vw tourege and I know u don't prefer vw at all. Foolish idea. It was burning oil as soon as I bought it. Vw told me it was a leak and the next oil change we can deal with it then I took it to another mechanic shop they said no leak. Then I took it back to vw and they said no leak and completely ignored my concer about how often I was having to put oil in. it's at 160,000 miles now and finally a family member who's husband works on cars said its burning oil and we need a new valve seal and I told him about the boiled egg smell and u had mentioned battery and catalytic converter with that smell I did have to. Change the batter and now I find that it has been burning oil long enough that the catalytic converter is now a problem and the car is running hot.  What should I do. I owe over 10000 on the car still and I'm seeing that that's all they are selling for at this point should I fix the problem and keep the car it has been running poorly lately or fix it and trade it in or just trade it in before fixing. Thanks for your help

If you can get enough selling it or on a trade-in to pay off the loan (or at least with minimal loss) your best bet would be to get rid of that thing. It's going to be a money pit.

Thank you
