- Hey Scotty I’ve watched about every video you got, you are amazing, how ever on my MKX there is a slight thunk when switching from park to reverse and drive. And when driving there is a constant small vibration. No need for wheel bearings, tires are new and re balanced, and I know my rear end is going out I just have to put the new one in. Is it a mount my mechanic said there was little play in my mounts but we don’t know. Also when it is brake torqued. It makes a clicking noise from the front of the car.

It worries me that your mechanic "doesn't know". Sounds like classic torque converter failure to me. If it isn't, it's an internal transmission issue. Not unexpected at that mileage.

If you confirmed your rear end is going out, then it sounds like excessive pinion slop in the rear axle to me. Ya gotta get underneath and have somebody shift from D to R and back and forth and listen. Do so with safety (park brake on and wheels BLOCKED both sides, idle only)
