I have a 2013 Mazda CX-5 (JDM import, 50000km) that seems to have a hesitant cold start first thing in the morning. I live in the Caribbean so it doesn't really get cold here. For the rest of the day, starts are normal. The car doesn't have any other functional problems.
The CX-5 was recently serviced by the local Mazda dealer and I brought up the issue, but it doesn't seem like anything was done. Looking through the invoice, only standard servicing was done (e.g. oil/fluids, air/oil filters, etc.).
Any idea of what could be the problem? I've run an ODBII scan and there weren't any errors detected.
Thanks.
Load test the battery and alternator.
Turns out the battery needed replacement. Starts perfectly fine now. Thanks again.
Great call @doc
Pressure test the fuel line.
Thanks. Will try those.
