whooshing sound from the back

The awd failed about 2 years ago for the second time...at which point given the cost to repair ($6000cdn) i decided to leave it be as there were no warning lights or adverse effects. The vehicle actually rode and handled better.  I'm starting to hear a whooshing sound from the back....more pronounced on high speed corners.  I suspect it could be the rear bearings or rear brake disks which are due to be changed.  My question is....could it possibly be related to failure of the awd in terms of rear differential or other component in the awd system?

Well of course you could have to do with the all-wheel drive not working correctly to find the actual source of any noise do my video finding the source of car noises Scotty

thanks Scotty...reviewed the video.  I guess my question should have been....is there any danger in leaving it operate in 2 wheel drive given that there were no adverse effects ?  A mechanic told me in order to restore the 4 wheel drive they would have to replace the front transfer case/coupler/ rear differential...hence $6000....not a investment i am going to make.
