Do you recommend using the lacquer thinner on a 2014 MB?

Lacquer thinner is combusted along with gasoline in the cylinders. It's not the most effective and it could trip your Check Engine Light. If you're trying to unclog a catalytic converter, let it sit in the thinner overnight.

Troubleshoot your problem. For example, catalytic converters are designed for the lifetime of the car. It could be oxygen sensors, exhaust leaks...

thinner cannot unclog a catalytic converter. If it's clogged then it has fallen apart and there's no magic substance that will put it back together.

Why'd Scotty do a video on that, then? We get this question a lot as well, lol.

There is a video where Scotty suggests using lacquer thinner FOR A CLOGGED CAT? I'd like to see that.
Also OP never said his was clogged.

https://youtu.be/5icTmYItwiE?si=EVsAHpfC4LjBfYGW Scotty says himself, it's not completely blocked, but it was enough to trip that code.

That's why I said to troubleshoot, not just pour lacquer thinner in the gas tank. Haha.
