2014 Ford Fiesta SE Transmission Problems

Greetings, Scotty,

I own a 2014 Ford Fiesta SE that has transmission problems, according to the diagnosis made by two independent mechanic shops. My card was serviced for an automatic transmission clutch problem at the dealership where I bought it, about two years after I got the car, and when the it was still under warranty. I have owned the car for just under ten years, and it has less than 100 thousand miles.

Facing the possibility of having to spend thousands for dollar to have the transmission repaired, I started to do some research and have been very surprised to find out the extend of the transmission problems with the Fiestas’ and the legal battles car owners and states have had with Ford. I was only able to find information about two states, California, and Michigan, where Ford was required to repair for free or buy back the vehicles with transmission problems. I have not been able to find a ruling requiring Ford to do the same nationwide, which would include the state in which I live.

I contacted the service department where I bought the car about the transmission problem I am having with it and asked if they would repair it according to the ruling mentioned above, and the man I spoke with said that I would have to pay for the diagnosis and the repair/replacement of the transmission, if the problem is the transmission.

Would you be able to provide me with advice on where I can find information regarding this matter that would require Ford to repair/replace my car’s transmission without charging me for the work, or any other additional information on how to manage this matter?

Thank you in advance and for your work/videos.

To my knowledge all legal settlements arrived at due to the class-action lawsuits have expired at this point. Ford will not fix the transmission without charge.

The automatic transmissions in those cars are garbage and will never be right. Don't waste your money trying to get it repaired. The only remedy is to get rid of the car.

Thank you, Chuck!

Only certain Fiestas were subject to the actual recall. My friend's Fiesta has been a nightmare as well, and when I said they recalled them, only certain ones went through. It was giant scam by Ford, the engineers knew that they were selling defective dual-clutch automatics, and they didn't care. Show them, by not buying another Ford. I'm also traditionally a Ford guy.
