Scotty I'm debating which of these two cars would be more reliable, is it true that mustang transmission are really bad, should I consider the Subaru?
I'm going Mustang on this one. More power than the BRZ and more space as well.
I heard Scotty say the BRZ was underpowered. I am not sure (@mod_man could clarify) but I remember somewhere that the newer (I believe 2010+) Mustang manual transmissions were not that good of a transmission. Most 2014 Mustang complaints were paint and airbag related so don't try to impress your friends with the bad paint and don't get into a crash.
If the BRZ is manual, I would pick it.
I'd pick a standard mustang
I would go with the Mustang.
For reliability and piece of mind, I would avoid the Mustang with the 6-speed manual! The non-Shelby Mustang manual transmissions from 2011+ were Getrag MT82 (and heavier duty versions for the GT) had issues. There’s even a class action lawsuit for this.
