Hello Scotty,
I am based out of Ontario and came across a 2014 Subaru Forester Limited with 210,000 kms(131,250 miles). The price seems to be reasonable, however, I would like some suggestions before proceeding with the purchase.
Please note that this is my second car. I had a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Automatic, which I purchased in 2015, which had 70K miles and used it for 4.5 years. Spent close to 7K on maintenance and when I sold it out in 2019 all I got was 1500 USD. I am hesitant to make another used car purchase.
New cars are damn expensive and even relatively newer used cars with decent miles are almost the same price as new cars.
1. What do I need to check if I decide to but this one? I really cannot afford a lot of money however don't want to just go with a car with low initial cost but then end up spending more in maintenance.
2. What are possible issues that I might encounter with this kind of mileage in the 2014 Forester? And how expensive would it be.
Thanks in advance.
That car was made during a time when Subarus had oil burning problems due to defective piston rings. Also, assuming it has automatic transmission, the CVT may well be close to end of life at that mileage. I'd steer clear of it.

Always have a good mechanic thoroughly inspect any used car before purchase.
Personally I would pass on it.
