Hey Scotty I have a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta SE with 99000 miles on it and salvage.I bought it when it only had 26000 miles.I been having it for about 5 years now and it’s been giving me a few problems lately and I’m not sure what to do just because I know there pricy to fix.I have 3 codes that I managed to scan and those are P0341,P0236 and P0606.When the check engine light and EPC light turn on in the dashboard the car tends to loose power and the rpm needle will skyrocket and not go past 60 miles per hour and then the rpm needle will drop to 3000rpm which is still high.Apart from loosing power it lags a little as well meaning when I step on the gas the car won’t move at least after 4 seconds it will move but I have to keep pumping the gas peddle for a bit and lately there’s this loud rattling noise coming from the very back of the engine where the car gets turned on and or is on the move or whenever I accelerate to.What do you think I should do I’m thinking of fixing it since it’s the only car I have to get around and to go to work but I don’t have money to fix it and I’m stuck.Any recommendations and suggestions thanks.
Well I’m not Scotty but I can guarantee you he would’ve told you never to buy that thing in the first place, especially considering it has a salvage title, you’re asking for problems. VW has made some of the worst automatic transmissions in the world and the electronics are known for going bad early and costing a small fortune to fix. Personally if I were you I’d start looking around for a nice used Toyota or Honda and junk that thing, or if you can sell it for any kind of money go for it but most people would give hardly anything for one of those junkers.
