Scotty,
I have a 2015.5 Volvo V60 with the so-called 'lifetime' transmission fluid in an 8sp AISIN Geartronic transmission with 92kmiles.
I have owned this car since 13kmiles and it drives well without any trouble. Would it be a mistake to drain and refill the transmission fluid at this point following the suggestions in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9bwZElsodM as well as your recent video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi4nzS0uOX0 ? I have followed your advice on changing engine oil every 5k miles. Clearly, I would use the Volvo transmission fluid for the replacement.
I also have a Volvo backed extended warranty through Nov1. It is a V60 with a 4cyl turbocharged gasoline engine.
I am a big fan; thanks for all the tips and help.
It depends on the conditions of the fluid. Check the FAQ section on this forum for more information.
I would say yes, but save the old fluid incase the transmission does start to slip.
You could change the fluid. Use OEM fluid and don't use any flush. Just drain the old fluid and replace with new. I would save the old fluid until you verify that the new fluid did not effect the performance.
