- Bought this vehicle, turns out the pistons were bad, it was smoking a lot because the oil was leaking through the pistons or something like that, had to have the engine rebuilt and set the timing correctly, changed the spark plugs and coils, had the intake manifold tested by Ford to see if there’s any leaks/cracks and it checked out good, however we can’t seem to find out why the car is misfiring in cylinder 2 & 4. Had another mechanic come check it out and he says it’s the computer and it will need to be re-flashed or reprogrammed or something what do you suggest? Vehicle has 82k miles, also Ford doesn’t know the issue. Had the vehicle sitting at the Ford dealer for about 2-3 weeks and we just picked it back up

Wow must have been driven hard by previous owner. No surprised as that coyote motor is addicting haha
If the engine was rebuilt, check over the install/parts. PCM shouldn't need reprogram unless previous owner had custom tune on it

The 5.0L Coyote V8's are constant problem motors. Especially 2018+.
If you have a misfire, I would suggest not accepting return of the vehicle and make Ford figure it out. After all, it is their motor and they rebuilt it so it is on them, not you.
