Hey guys I've been trying to diagnose an issue I've been having with my car ever since I hit a curb really hard on the passenger rear tire, when it was icy out.
My car struck a curb very hard on the passenger rear tire and now when I go on the highway or even around 40mph in the city and barely turn the wheel to the left my car will make a loud humming/ really hard rubbing noise I believe is coming from the rear passenger tire
I've changed the brakes and rotors after it happened as well as the whole wheel hub assembly in the passenger rear tire but the noise persists.
Do you think it would be the cv axle ? Or maybe the drum brake is causing the noise.
Please help - Zubair
I would say it kind of sounds like the ebrake is dragging when I'm driving above 30mph and turning the wheel slightly to the left
Can you please make a YouTube video of the noise and post the link here?
I will!! Just Give me like an hour or so!!
If you skip too 6min and listen closely you'll hear the humming, there's just so much road noise it might be hard to hear.
probably crushed the wheel bearing
Well humming is often wheel bearings but you said you changed the hub so I would assume that the brakes are dragging or something is bent making the brake drum hit like a bad bushing on any of the suspension parts
Thanks scotty!! I'm going to take a look
Are you sure that wheel bearing was replaced? It sounds like it’s the wheel bearing.
Do any parts look bent or rubbing against each other in that corner? Jack it up and check.
